  • When a business is transferred to another person or in case a business is demerged
  • E-commerce operator or aggregator
  • Individuals who pay tax under the scheme of reverse charge mechanism (RCM)
  • Input service distributors and supplier agents

How to Register on the GST Website?

Visit the government website for registration and apply for GST. There are two types of login procedures. The first type of login is for existing users, and the second type of login is for new users.

When you carry out the process of registration you will get a username and can set a password for the official GST login. On submission of all the GST registration details and documents, an acknowledgment number is allotted.

After due verification by the GST officer, the registration process is completed by allocation of the GST Identification Number (GSTIN).

What Is The List Of Documents Required For Registration Under GST?

1. For Sole proprietor/Individual

  • PAN Card
  • Aadhar card
  • Bank account information
  • Proof of address
  • Photograph

2. For HUF

  • PAN Card

3. For Private and Public Companies

  • Company’s PAN card

How to Check the Status of Registration Under GST?

When a person has filed an application for registration of GST, he will get an application reference number (ARN). An application is processed after 15 days of application, although you can check the GST registration status online on the portal. 

You shall follow the below-mentioned steps to check the registration status with or without logging into the GST portal:

Step 1: Visit the GST official portal and Click on ‘services’> ‘Registration’> ‘Track application status’.

Step 2: The second step is to select ‘Registration’ from the drop-down list in the module

Step 3: Enter the ARN or SRN received on submitting the registration at your e-mail address. Enter the captcha code and click on the search

A service request number (SRN) is generated when an application for registration under GST is filled on the MCA portal.

The ARN will contain any one of the below-given status:

  • Pending for Processing – When a new registration application is submitted and is awaiting processing by the tax officer. The new GST registration fees is NIL.
  • Site Verification Assigned – When a registration application is marked for a site visit and verification.
  • Site Verification Completed - When a Site verification officer submits the report to the tax officer, it is considered completed.
  • Pending for Clarification – When an officer issues a notice requesting clarification to the applicant.
  • Clarification Filled – Pending for order – When the applicant successfully files a clarification with the tax officer and the decision is awaited
  • Clarification not Filled – Pending for order – When the applicant fails to file a clarification within a specific number of days and the order is pending, this status appears.
  • Approved – When an applicant’s Registration ID and password are emailed to them after their new registration application is accepted by the tax officer.
  • Rejected – When a registration application of a new applicant is rejected by a tax officer.
