In July 2020, the Ministry launched a composite criterion consisting of both investment and turnover as criteria for classifying enterprises as MSMEs.

The registration as per the new definition of MSMEs and ease of doing business in India has been introduced by permanent registration known as “Registration of Udyam”, earlier it was called Udyog Aadhar.

What is the Process to Download Udyam Registration Certificate?

The Udyam certificate is sent to the registered email ID of the user. You can also download Udyam certificate on the official registration portal.

The Udyam registration download can be done after the completion of the registration process. You can make the Udyam registration certificate download by following the given steps:

Step 1: Go to the Udyam login

Step 2: The first click on the ‘Print/verify’ option on the screen and then select the ‘Print certificate’ option for Udyam download.

Step 3: Enter the ‘Registration No. of Udyam’

Step 4: You can choose the OTP option from the Mobile number/email ID for receiving the OTP.

Step 5: Then you shall Click on the ‘Validate & Generate OTP’ option on the screen to download Udyam Registration Certificate.

Step 6: In the next step, you shall enter the OTP sent on the registered e-mail ID /phone no. and then click on the option ‘Validate OTP and login’ on the screen.

Step 7: After login, Udyam certificate download.

Important Points to Keep in Mind for Registering a Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise

  • Any person who wants to register a micro, small or medium enterprise can file registration on Udyam on the online registration portal. It is based on self-declaration with no requirement to upload certificates, papers, documents, or any kind of proof. Download Udyam Registration Certificate from the official portal of Udyam.
  • After the completion of registration process, an enterprise will be allotted a permanent number which is called as the “Registration number of Udyam”.
  • An e-certificate known as the Udyam certificate shall be issued on completion of the registration process.

What is the Process of Udyam Registration Online?

Registration of Udyam is based on self-declaration with an Aadhar number, PAN card, bank account details, and GSTIN (if applicable). The process of Registration to register under Udyam are following:

1. Visit the Udyam registration login

2. Click on the option ‘For new entrepreneurs who are not registered yet as MSME’.

3. Enter the ‘Aadhar number’, and ‘Name of entrepreneur’ and click on the ‘Validate & generate OTP’ option. You can also download Udyam Registration Certificate after completing the registration process.

4. OTP will be sent to the entrepreneur’s mobile number linked with the Aadhar. You can enter the OTP sent to your registered mobile and then click on ‘Validate’.

5. Once the Aadhar is validated, the PAN verification page will appear. Enter the ‘Type of organization’, and ‘PAN’ numbers and click on the ‘Validate’ button.

6. Enter the details such as the Name of the enterprise, Address of the enterprise, mobile number, bank details, the NIC code, activity performed, and the number of persons employed.

7. Enter the details of investment in plant and machinery, select the declaration, and click on the ‘Submit and Get final OTP’.

8. Enter the OTP and submit the form. You will receive the certificate and download Udyam Registration Certificate from the e-mail ID.

The registration of Udyam is also known as Udyam Aadhar Registration.

What are the Documents Required for Udyam Certificate?

The list of documents for obtaining the Udyam Certificate is as follows:

1. Aadhar card

  • In the case of proprietorship, the Aadhar number of the proprietor is to be entered in the Udyam form of registration.
  • In the case of a partnership, the Aadhar number of the managing partner is to be entered in the Udyam form of registration.
  • In the case of HUF, the Aadhar number of the Karta is to be entered in the Udyam form of registration.
  • In the case of a Company or LLP Cooperative society or trust, the Aadhar number of the organization or authorized signatory is to be entered in the Udyam form of registration. You can download Udyam Registration Certificate from the official website.

3. GSTIN (GST Identification number), if the enterprise is required to be registered under GST law.

What are the Steps to Print Udyam Registration Certificate?

You can take an Udyam certificate print with help of the steps given below:

Step 1: Visit the Udyamregistration.gov.in 

Step 2: Click on the ‘Print/verify’ option on the screen and then select the ‘Udyam Print’ button for printing the certificate.

Step 3: Now Enter the ‘Registration number of Udyam’

Step 4: From the Mobile number or email ID option, you can choose anyone for receiving OTP.

Step 5: Click ‘Validate & Generate OTP’

Step 6: The next step is to enter the OTP received and then click on the ‘Validate OTP & login’ option shown on the screen.

Step 7: When you log in to the portal, you can Udyam Certificate Print and download Udyam Registration Certificate.

What is the Process of Udyam Registration Verification?

Udyam verification is performed to verify if the person is an authorized member of Udyam or not. This process of Udyam verify is given below: -

Step 1: Visit the www.Udyamregistration.gov.in website

Step 2: Enter your Registration number for Udyam

Step 3: Enter the One-Time Password. You will receive the OTP which is sent on your registered mobile no. linked with Aadhar. The OTP is case-sensitive.

Step 4: For Verification of Udyam - Enter the CAPTCHA as given on the page. The numbers and letters are case-sensitive.

Step 5: Select ‘verify’ and then enter the CAPTCHA as shown on the screen with the OTP. You can also download Udyam Registration Certificate after registration.

How to Check the Udyam Registration Status?

You can check the registration status of udyam on the official portal. You can also verify the registration form submitted with help of the following steps given below:

Step 1: Visit the Udyam portal

Step 2: The second step is to click on the option ‘Print/verify’ and then select the ‘Udyam Print certificate’ button on the screen.

Step 3: Enter the ‘Registration number of Udyam’

Step 4: Choose the option for receiving the OTP from Phone or email address.

Step 5: Then, click on option of ‘Validate as well as Generate OTP’ on the screen.

Step 6: Enter the OTP sent to your phone /email address and click on the ‘Validate OTP and login’ button.

Step 7: You can view the udyam registration status and download Udyam Registration Certificate.
